Class 2

Friday 2 October 2026

Winnie: is an absolute pleasure to have in our class. She consistently demonstrates our school values each and every day and is a kind, caring and thoughtful friend to everyone around her. Whether interacting with younger children, older pupils, her classmates or adults, she always treats others with kindness and respect.  She can always be relied upon to make positive choices. From sitting beautifully and showing she is ready to learn, to listening carefully and approaching every task with enthusiasm, she sets an excellent example for others. Recently, she has shown growing confidence in her learning, taking risks and sharing her ideas even when she is not completely sure of the answer. This willingness to challenge herself demonstrates a fantastic attitude towards learning. She approaches each day with positivity, enthusiasm and a wonderful smile, making her a valued member of our classroom. We are incredibly proud of the confidence, maturity and kindness she shows, and we are very lucky to have her in our class.

Wilf: has shown fantastic perseverance, particularly with his handwriting.  He has been taking great care to ensure his letters are formed correctly, using leading lines carefully and applying the skills he has learnt in handwriting lessons across all areas of his writing.  What impresses us most is his genuine love of learning and his determination to be the very best he can be.  He listens carefully to feedback from adults and consistently uses it to improve his work, showing a fantastic attitude towards learning and personal growth. He is also a positive and cheerful member of our class who works exceptionally well with others. His excellent communication skills enable him to listen respectfully, share ideas thoughtfully and take turns effectively when working with a learning partner. We are incredibly proud of the perseverance, maturity and enthusiasm he brings to the classroom every day.

Freya: This week’s Star of the Week is being recognised for demonstrating our school value of perseverance, particularly with her reading.  She has been working incredibly hard both at school and at home and has taken great pride in developing her reading skills.  She is becoming increasingly confident at sounding out unfamiliar words, decoding and blending sounds accurately, and tackling new vocabulary with enthusiasm. She listens carefully to the adults supporting her, repeats phrases to improve her fluency and enjoys discussing the meaning of new words. She has also been thinking deeply about the stories she reads, sharing her ideas and considering what the author is trying to tell the reader.  We are incredibly proud of the determination, perseverance and growing confidence she is showing. Keep up the fantastic work, Freya!

Kunashe: has settled into our class exceptionally well.  He has embraced our school values and works hard each day to demonstrate them through his actions.  He listens carefully to adults and his classmates, follows instructions well and has quickly become part of our classroom routines.  Even when learning feels challenging, he shows remarkable perseverance and determination, always approaching tasks with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. We are delighted that he is part of our Class 2 family.  We are very proud of the effort, resilience and enthusiasm he has shown since joining us.  Well done, Kunashe!

Harry: has shown fantastic perseverance in his learning.  He has worked incredibly hard and demonstrated a determined attitude when faced with new challenges, particularly in handwriting. He has been carefully practising his leading lines, long ladder letters and curly caterpillar letters, taking great care to ensure he starts each letter correctly on the line.  What has impressed us most is his willingness to listen to feedback and keep trying. When adults have suggested ways to improve his letter formation, he has listened carefully, applied the advice and shown great resilience by having another go rather than giving up.  He has also worked exceptionally hard in History. While learning about the Victorians, he listened attentively to new information and showed real perseverance by returning to texts and re-reading information to help him find accurate answers. This demonstrated not only determination but also a genuine commitment to his learning.  We are incredibly proud of the perseverance he has shown this week and the positive attitude he brings to every lesson. He has reminded us all that perseverance means listening, learning from mistakes and continuing to try even when something feels challenging. Well done!
