British Values in our school

We are committed to helping our children understand the fundamental British values that prepare them for life in modern Britain. These values are embedded within our teaching, our behaviour expectations and our everyday school life.

We teach democracy by giving children chances to share their views and make decisions together, such as with our school council. We promote the rule of law by helping pupils understand why rules keep everyone safe, like St Anne's 'Golden Rules'. We encourage individual liberty by supporting children to make positive, responsible choices. We model mutual respect by treating everyone with kindness, and 'Respect' is one of our six school values. We celebrate tolerance of different faiths and beliefs through learning about a wide range of cultures and religions, within our curriculum.

Through lessons, worship, playtimes and wider enrichment, we help children grow into confident, respectful and thoughtful young citizens.
