Autumn 1: Friday 5 September 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

A very warm welcome back to the start of the new academic year. We hope you have all enjoyed a restful summer break and are ready for the exciting year ahead.  A special welcome to all of our new Reception children: Mac, Cassian, Theodora, Jagger, Alfie, Laetitia, Aubree, Hattie, Ella, Lyla, Toby, Nirvana, Ollie, Amelie, Clara, Teddy, Everleigh, Matei, Harper, Luca, Delilah, Christian, Esther, Thomas, Ameila, Eleanor, Amelia, Erin, Oscar, Cruz as they begin their school journey, and also to Frederick in Class One, who have joined us this term.

Over the coming days, you will receive a letter from your child’s class teacher. This will outline the curriculum topic areas for the term, as well as details about PE days, spelling, and homework expectations.

Communication in School

We value working in partnership with you and encourage open communication. If you have something you would like to discuss regarding your child, please:

  • Speak briefly to your child’s class teacher in the playground before or after school
  • Contact the teacher via the class email (please note that teachers are teaching during the day and will respond when they are able, within working hours)
  • For general matters, please contact the school office by phone or email.

If there are changes to collection arrangements for your child, please telephone the office rather than email, so that we can ensure the information is received promptly.

Please ensure that we have up-to-date emergency contact details for your child in case of an emergency – you can check these on Arbor and let us know of any amendments or changes via the app.

Attendance

The Department for Education continues to emphasise the importance of good school attendance.  Our school follows Nottinghamshire County Council guidance, and you will have received an attendance flyer produced jointly by the schools in Worksop, which sets out our shared approach.

Please remember to notify the school office of any absence at the start of the school day. If we cannot make contact, home visits will be carried out as part of our safeguarding responsibilities.

Staffing Update

Our caretaker, Miss Needham, is continuing her recovery, and in the meantime Mrs Taylor will be covering her duties.  We send our best wishes to Miss Needham and look forward to welcoming her back soon.
We welcome Mrs Stocks into Class 2 and you will see her in school on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Opportunities Ahead

We are excited about the opportunities this year will bring - school trips, visiting speakers, themed weeks and days, and much more.  We ask that you continue to work closely with us to support your child in reaching their full potential.
We are also looking for regular parent helpers who are prepared to be DBS-checked and able to come into school to read with children on a weekly basis. If this is something you could commit to, please let the office know.

Please remember to check our weekly newsletter and the website calendar, which will keep you up to date with everything happening at St Anne’s.

End of the Day Procedures

At the end of the school day, we kindly ask families to leave the school site promptly. This allows staff to lock the gates and ensures that our after-school club children can safely enjoy full use of the playground and school facilities.

Parking

Please remember that the Church carpark is at the discretion of the Church PCC and we ask that you please park within the designated areas.  We are in a residential area so ask if you are parking on the roads, to please be considerate to local residents.
