Year 6 - 2024-2025
W/E: 24/04/2025
Amelia: Starting the summer term off with a great attitude and fantastic ideas already! During our language build in English, her phrases to describe the desert were incredible! She also engaged in maths sessions and extra maths in the afternoon, sharing her answers and methods to help others. During a reading challenge, she worked amazingly within her group and demonstrated excellent leadership skills, supporting, helping and taking on other people's contributions.

Poppy: I am over the moon with this lady's progress in reading. Her results this time have blown me away. We know the Class 6 papers are difficult and to achieve what she has this time is incredible. I hope she keeps working hard and giving her reading her all, because this proves hard work pays off.
W/E: 20/03/2025
Violet: During the past few weeks, Class 6 has been working to produce a description in writing and Violet's blew me away. Her use of vocabulary and the cohesion throughout was beautiful and grammatically accurate. Within these lessons she also shared her expert writing skills with other pupils to help lift their work, which was lovely to see. Violet has a great understanding of texts and writing genres and this description we found quite difficult, having just done a non-chron report. Keep it up Violet, well done.

Nadia: has once again been recognised not only as me as class teacher but Mrs Sprigg as well, for her positive, kind and sensible attitude towards everything in school. She's focused, remains on task and always guides others to do the same, when their choices might not be as sensible. She is becoming a great leader in class and is using her voice much more. Her confidence this week has been shining through. She is always the person in class who tidies everyone's mess, whether she created it or not. She never makes a fuss, and we are so proud of the young lady she is becoming.
Alek: This week Alek's hand has been up for almost everything! His arm must be aching!! He's been trying so hard, participating more - and in history and whole class read he knocked my socks off with some of his answers and responses. Then we did a group SPAG quiz, which he was dominating and knew loads of answers. He's come so far already this year and is also showing great commitment to his booster groups. He's making good progress and I hope he keeps it up.
W/E: 07/03/2025
Edward: deserves star this week and lots of other weeks. He is another pupil, who gets on. He has a polite manner and is always a positive force in the classroom. His behaviour is outstanding. He tackles the whole curriculum with determination and always contributes his ideas. In history, he is always keen to share his general knowledge and picks up on new concepts very quickly.
W/E: 28/02/2025
Harry: is always working hard and has such a polite manner. He has offered to help with class jobs this week, which is always appreciated. In his boosters he is gaining confidence and making great progress. He has impressed me this week with his reading, his confidence is really growing and it's lovely to see.
W/E: 14/02/2025
Amelia: has been working so hard this half-term, even making an effort to use her CPG books in her own time to do extra learning. She has also become more confident this week, in writing, when using parentheses and relative clauses. She is making excellent progress across the curriculum, and I've been really proud of how hard she is working. Amelia is a kind, supportive member of the class, who always tries to help others.
W/E: 07/02/2025
Darcie: really is remarkable. She is gaining star this week, but every week she could have been a star. Her homework and reading every week since September have been completed and beautifully presented. She takes amazing pride in her work and I always use her books to model what exceptional Class 6 work should look like. She takes such care with every task and is a fierce leader, always willing to get stuck into each activity. She is kind and considerate and even looks after me with her kind notes I often find at my desk. She really is a great role model and can achieve anything she sets her mind too. Well done Darcie, you're a star.
W/E: 31/01/2025
Olivia: For always being a sensible, polite and shining example to her class. Olivia is always keen and ready to learn. She quietly gets on with any task set and achieves the outcome. She also pushes herself and challenges herself. She has a deeper understanding of concepts and can explain her reasoning.
W/E: 24/01/2025
Zak: had an amazing week last week and this week! He has got such a positive attitude to learning, and even giving his extra booster groups 100% attention. He works hard, and he is always kind and often loves a challenge. He's enjoyed being the leader in PE over the past few weeks. He has also worked really hard on his Moth poem, which is his best piece of writing so far this year.
Holly: deserves a shout-out this week for coming in and giving it her all. On Wednesday we were lucky enough to have an outside music provider come in and help Year 6 write, compose and sing their own song. Holly was recognised for her beautiful singing voice, and was even compared to Billy Elish. She was enthusiastic and worked hard to contribute to the class song. I'm very proud of her.
W/E: 10/01/2025
Dayna: has a great attitude. She is always helpful and kind to others, and has been an especially great friend to Salim. She works hard, participates in everything, and takes her year 6 jobs seriously. Dayna has even increased the amount of work she is doing at home (with a little help from grandad) especially with spelling.
W/E: 13/01/2025
Zak: This half-term he has been working his socks off across all his subjects. He is listening to feedback and building on his skills, especially in maths, reading and writing. He is always polite and hard-working and tackles everything with a positive attitude, even when things get tricky.
Salim: I am so proud of how Salim has settled into class 6. It must have been very intimidating and nerve-racking to enter a new school, but he is doing an amazing job and making great progress, especially in his reading and writing. He is trying really hard and has made lots of new friends. Keep it up Salim, you are doing amazingly!
W/E: 06/12/2024
Frankie: has been working so hard and especially impressed me in PE during the fitness unit. She worked really hard and pushed herself when we were learning about sustaining pace and stamina. She has the most positive attitude to everything, always offers to help and is simply a kind soul. She wears a smile every day and is always polite.
Harper: I had to do an extra star this week for her progress in reading. In half a term, she has made tremendous progress in her scaled score. There's not much more to say the score speaks for itself ! Keep it up Harper.
W/E: 28/11/2024
Mia: This week (and all the other weeks) Mia has worked so hard in every lesson, giving everything her best. She never moans and just gets on with the task at hand. She is also very supportive of her peers and is the first to volunteer to support their learning and spread her knowledge. This person is also quick to help in class; giving things out and doing jobs. She's very independent and demonstrates a mature approach to everything she does.
W/E: 22/11/2024
Isobel: has worked exceptionally hard this week to learn all her lines for the class assembly. She has shown great responsibility by learning this in her own time. Isobel has also had a great week academically, writing a very successful newspaper article and completing her fractions work confidently. She is always eager and happy to help.
W/E: 15/11/2024
Aylin: has tackled a new experience with confidence, perseverance and determination. She had a smile on her face (except when she was free-falling) the whole time. Her attitude towards the whole trip was amazing and she never caused fuss! She gets on with everyone and has blown me away. I'm so proud of this person and I'm so happy she came with us! Aylin you really are a star.
Nadia: This trip pushed her own fear to the absolute limits, yet she never complained. She stayed determined at every challenge and was willing to give everything a try. On the final day Nadia took the leap and completed the zip wire. Her own smile after that showed me how proud she was of herself (quite rightfully) and filled me with pride. She has accomplished so much on this trip and also makes an effort to be friends with everyone and always do the right thing. She is always so kind to everyone and works her socks off day in day out. Well done Nadia, keep shining and sharing your light!!!
W/E: 08/11/2024
Sophie: got off to a flying start this week! Her hand was raised for every question, she was eager to share and across the curriculum this week she has tried really hard. I've been especially impressed with her more accurate use of punctuation and her mental maths skills this week were excellent, including her explanation of how she did the mental maths.
W/E: 18/10/2024
Lewis A: Lewis has tried exceptionally hard. He has been fully immersed in all his learning and cares about the work he does. He is conscientious and always completes work to the best of his ability. I am really proud of Lewis this week, especially in his history work. He has had a great first half-term in year 6 and gives everything 100% effort. The way he presents his work is also high quality! Well done Lewis!
W/E: 10/10/2024
Olivia: has produced some amazing work across the curriculum, especially in her writing. Her description of the lighthouse blew me away and each piece of work she does, she takes great pride in. She always comes in with a positive attitude, ready to tackle the day as well as being kind and polite to staff and her peers. Olivia was recognised by her peers this week and last week and keeps telling me she should be star of the week. It's well deserved!
W/E: 04/10/2024
Lewis K: has tried really hard across the curriculum. He produced an excellent poem for the Wonder Verse competition and engaged in the whole class read. He is always polite and works hard. Lewis has been able to reflect on his own work to make improvements or recognise his own errors and this kind of attitude towards learning equals progress. He's a superstar.
W/E: 20/09/2024
Thomas: has had an excellent start back. He is a model pupil who always tries his best, never moans, works hard and is kind - kind to everyone. His passion for creating has really impressed me too. He's an excellent artist, writer and reader, and he has produced an excellent description. During these lessons he took on my feedback without a moan and made his work even better ...really persevering with it! How lovely to see him demonstrating the value of the half-term! Well done Thomas, keep it up!

Rosie: her respect for me, others and the school has shone through. She has made such an effort to help organise and tidy the classroom. She is always ready for learning, and I've noticed she gets on with everyone in the room. She has tried her best in all subjects this week, and I was particularly impressed in both our PE sessions. She is already a role model and I know she will be an excellent learner this year.
