Jasper: We are incredibly impressed with Jasper’s hard work in geography. He independently created a natural disaster book about tsunamis, carefully choosing his facts, working hard on his handwriting, and including pictures to make his booklet interesting for the reader. We are really proud of his effort—keep it up, Jasper!

Willow: has worked really hard on her writing this week. She thoughtfully improved her descriptions, enhanced her vocabulary, and made sure her writing is exciting to read. She has also shown huge improvement in her handwriting this year. Keep up the great work, Willow!

Dominic: has demonstrated many of our St Anne’s values throughout this half-term in his swimming lessons. He has shown great courage by facing something he initially found very daunting.  He has also displayed perseverance when trying new skills and determination to keep going, even when things became challenging. Week after week, Dominic has approached each lesson with a positive, can-do attitude, and his hard work has not gone unnoticed. This week, his swimming teacher praised the excellent progress he has made and the growing confidence he is showing in the water. We are incredibly proud of Dominic’s development in swimming. If he continues to work with the same determination and enthusiasm, we are confident it won’t be long before he is swimming independently without a pool noodle.

Lilly: is a reliable and hardworking member of Class 3. She always tries her best and gets fully involved in her learning. Her effort shows clearly in the quality of her work. In writing, Lilly consistently aims to improve her vocabulary by choosing ambitious words. In maths, she works hard to apply the methods taught and to remember what she has learnt before. Lilly is kind and helpful, often supporting adults and volunteering for classroom jobs. She has been a pleasure to have in Class 3 this year, and we will surely miss her help as she moves up to Class 4.

Daniel: is always eager to participate in lessons, and this week he worked hard in science investigating how shadows form. He carefully made scientific drawings showing that shadows appear opposite the light source and attached to the object. Daniel’s enthusiasm for learning really helps him build strong knowledge. Kitty: impressed us all during Sports Week workshops this week. She eagerly took part in the skateboarding workshop, being the first to volunteer to demonstrate new tricks and try everything with a positive attitude. Even when she didn’t get a trick right straight away, Kitty showed great perseverance and kept trying. It was wonderful to see her come out of her shell, showing confidence and clearly enjoying herself. We are all very proud of Kitty’s enthusiasm and determination. Well done, Kitty!

Aza: has impressed us this week with his hard work in maths. Class 3 has been learning to tell the time, which can be tricky, but Aza has kept trying and has really improved. He’s been eager to answer questions, can tell the time to the nearest five minutes, and has even helped others understand how to solve problems. We are very proud of Aza’s effort and progress. Great job, Aza!

Ahmad: is always a wonderful child to have in class. He is ready to learn, can always be relied upon to do the right thing, and truly embodies the St Anne’s vision. Ahmad is kind and helpful, and he always tries his best in his learning. Over the last half-term, he has worked really hard on his presentation, making his handwriting more consistent across all his books.  Keep up this excellent effort, Ahmad – we are very proud of you!

Isaac: has been working really hard on his writing, making sure he includes all the important features of the genre. During his ‘big write,’ Isaac worked independently to create a newspaper article, including a headline, introduction, key facts, adverbs, and speech. He impressed the Class 3 team with his finished piece, and they are very proud of the progress he has made in his writing this year. Keep up the great work, Isaac!

Leo: is really impressing us in English. He puts a lot of effort into sharing his ideas, thinking of vocabulary to use, and sharing his knowledge with the class. During our newspaper unit, his hand was constantly flying up to offer ideas, and his shared writing was fantastic. Leo has also been a very kind friend, patiently and kindly supporting one of his peers, showing what a helpful and caring boy he is. Keep up the great work, Leo!

Teddy is an "always" child—he is always ready to learn, always tries his best, and always follows the golden rules.  In every lesson, he can be relied upon to work hard and complete his learning to the best of his ability.  He is a role model to his peers, consistently demonstrating the St Anne’s way and supporting others when needed.  We are very proud of the progress Teddy is making, regularly challenging himself and applying previous learning to support new concepts.

Joshua: has been working really hard on his learning.  In English, he worked independently to write his own report on tsunamis and is really enjoying our natural disasters topic.  In maths, he has been impressing the adults with his work ethic when learning about the place value of numbers to 100 and when learning how to multiply numbers.  Joshua has also impressed the adults outside of his learning, with his care for everything around him, particularly when looking after the garden with Mrs Wilkinson.  We love his enthusiastic attitude to learning and his big smile makes the classroom a brighter place.  Keep working hard Joshua

Lucy: her confidence in the swimming pool has grown so much over the last couple of weeks.  This week the children were swimming lengths of the pool.  Initially, Lucy faced her fear and did a wall pull.  Lucy didn’t just stop there though, she continued to persevere and with every length her confidence improved and by the end of the lesson Lucy was swimming down the pool using only her pool noodle.  Keep up this hard work Lucy

Emma: has really impressed all adults with her continuing progress.  In English, she is writing more and more and showing her increasing understanding of letters and their formation.  She is becoming increasingly more confident when sequencing her colourful semantics blocks to form sentences about pictures.  When swimming, Emma impressed the staff with her confidence in the water.  Keep up the good work Emma, we are really proud of you.

Imogen: has been working really hard in our English units over the last half-term.  She has listened carefully during the input to each lesson and this has enabled her to increase her writing, including everything she needs.  Within our recent unit of diary writing, our focus was to include conjunctions, prepositions and a range of sentence openers.  Imogen rose to the challenge, creating a fantastic diary entry from the perspective of Romulus working really hard to include all of the genre features needed.

Delilah: has shown a fantastic effort in maths, especially when learning about fractions.  She has worked hard to understand the numerator and denominator, and her confidence has really grown.  It has been great to see her challenging herself and persevering with her work.  In dance, she has been a brilliant team member, sharing ideas with her group and helping to develop their routine together.  She has also been putting a lot of effort into improving her handwriting, taking care with letter formation and presentation.  We are so proud of the determination, positive attitude, and hard work she has shown this week. Nadia: has been working really hard in English this week when writing sentences which incorporate conjunctions and prepositions.  She thought carefully about which one she could use within her writing and how she could make links to the story of Romulus and Remus.  I look forward to seeing her using these in her diary next week.

Lucas: has been trying really hard with his handwriting and has shown great effort across all areas of his work. He has tried really hard to ensure that his letters are formed correctly and that he uses finger spaces within his writing to ensure his work is easier to read.  He has taken pride in improving and has worked with a fantastic attitude. Lucas also really enjoyed science this week and worked hard when investigating soil, showing curiosity and enthusiasm. Well done, Lucas — keep up the amazing effort!

Dominic: has worked incredibly hard in maths.  He has shown great focus, tried his best even when the work was challenging, and never gave up.  His confidence and effort have really grown, and he should be very proud of himself.  When measuring with the ruler in cm and mm, Dominic ensured that he was accurate and read his ruler carefully to ensure his measurements were precise. Well done for such fantastic determination and progress in maths!

Pippa and Willow: For their fantastic character descriptions.  This week the children were tasked with writing a character description for their Roman myth.  The children had to think carefully about their choice of vocabulary and the thoughts and feelings of the character.  Both girls rose to this challenge.   They put their hands up to offer ideas in class, used the vocabulary ninja books to up level their vocabulary choices and created accurate descriptions of the character.   I am looking forward to reading the rest of their myth.

Dominic: his presentation is just beautiful, his books are always presented so neatly, and he takes such care with his handwriting to ensure his letters are formed correctly and are consistent in size.  He is working hard on his cursive handwriting, ensuring his joins are in the correct place.  Keep up the good work Dominic.

Flynn: This week in English, Class 3, were tasked with writing Haiku poems.  Flynn really got into the spirit of writing poetry and gave lots of ideas during the shared writing.  He was able to think of ideas and make this work with the 5, 7, 5 syllable pattern.  His final Roman haiku was fantastic. Well done Flynn.

Isaac: We have been blown away with this young man's attitude to learning this week.  He has been making an effort to put his hand up to answer questions, he has been applying himself to his learning and asking for help when he needs it.  We have been so impressed with your learning this week, Isaac. Keep up the good work.

Lilly: has really impressed the adults in Class 3 this week.  During the reciting of the poetry in English, Lilly was enthusiastic, gave suggestions of actions we could use to help remember each line and was the loudest, most confident voice helping to prompt the other children. Well done Lilly, keep up the good work.

Colin: is an active learner; he always has his hand up to participate in learning and always wants to get involved during the input. He loves to share his ideas in class and can always be relied upon to answer questions. This participation is shown in the work Colin produces, as you can always tell that he has listened carefully and been an active participant in the tasks. Keep this up Colin.

Jed: really impressed the staff during design and technology where the children were tasked with designing and making their own super salad. Jed was able to demonstrate the different grips to safely cut his vegetables including the bridge grip and claw grip. Jed was very sensible with his knife and thought carefully about the design of his salad to make it look appetising to eat.

George M: We are so impressed with George across all areas of the curriculum. He is working hard, trying his best and really trying to improve his learning.  He has shown himself to be a kind friend, supporting his peers in small groups and doing independent tasks. Riva: has impressed staff throughout the week this week, starting with her English work. After working hard on her shared writing, Riva threw herself into her peer editing work. She used the checklist to carefully identify what she had included in her writing, before selecting elements of her work to improve. She then used the checklist to identify what she hadn’t yet included and made a real effort to add these elements to her writing. Riva is also getting star of the week for her maturity and empathy towards her peers. During the school trip to Creswell Crags, Riva was noticed by many members of staff for her support, kindness and inclusion towards her peers when they were finding the day a challenge. She encouraged them to engage in the task and tried her best to cheer them up. Keep up the good work, Riva, we are really proud of you.

Kitty: has really impressed with maths this week. Class 3 have been learning the column method of subtraction. Initially, Kitty found this really challenging, but she persevered, working with the adults in class and using manipulatives to support her. Now she is one of the first with her hand up to explain the next step of the method and to give her answer.

Teddy: is getting star of the week for a few reasons. Firstly, Teddy is an always child, he can always be relied on to follow the golden rules, he is always making the right choices and he embodies the school values. He has had a fantastic first half-term in Class 3 and we are really proud of everything he is doing. He wrote a fantastic newspaper report in English. Teddy threw himself into this learning and carefully crafted his newspaper report, taking on the advice from adults and editing and improving his first draft. We were really impressed with his final piece.

Jasper: has made a fantastic start to this half-term. He has come back with such a positive attitude to learning and has been so caring and helpful towards both his peers and adults in the classroom. He has worked particularly hard during maths where Class 3 have been learning to do the column method of addition with exchanges. Jasper has also been making a real effort to put up his hand when he wants to share his many fantastic ideas. Keep up the good work Jasper, we are so proud.

Aza and Lola: for their fantastic independent news paper reports. They listened carefully during the shared write and then independently worked on their big write where they wrote a newspaper report about the discovery of Skara Brae. I was impressed with some of their language choices and the effort that they had put in to their writing. A big well done!

Imogen: has really impressed in her writing since joining class 3. She works hard to include the class 3 grammatical features and has produced a fantastic few paragraphs for her newspaper report. She is working hard on her handwriting and has been practising at home.

Daniel: The class 3 team are really proud of the resilience and perseverance Daniel has shown despite his broken arm. He has worked really hard on his learning, he has made sure that his learning is still of a high quality, and he is still making sure that he is getting involved in his learning. What a trouper!

Iris - In English this week Class 3 have been writing their own narrative based on their class book Stone Age Boy. Iris really enjoyed reading the story and thinking of her own ideas during the build up to our writing. This week, during the drafting element of our writing process, Iris worked hard to incorporate the Class 3 writing features in her piece of work and thought carefully about the journey of the character. She was also noticed for putting her hand up during our writing lessons to share her ideas. A great start to writing in Class 3, well done Iris.

Lucy - What a star! Lucy has made such a good impression since joining Class 3. She is always ready to learn. She always has everything she needs, and she can be relied upon to give her best in every lesson. She puts her hand up to participate and give answers and is a good learning partner, supporting her peers and helping them to make the right choices.

Joshua - I am really proud of this young man. He hasn’t stopped him trying his best. When working with Mrs Wilkinson during writing, Joshua was thinking of some fantastic sentences. In maths, he has been developing his independence, thinking carefully about the place value of ones, and the value of numbers to 20. Keep up this hard work Joshua, we know you can do it.

Oaklan: has made a fantastic start to Class 3. He is enthusiastic to learn, puts his hand up to answer questions and he is hard-working. When his learning partner had been out of class at times this week, he took responsibility as a learning partner to support her with the task she had missed, showing what a kind and helpful young man he is.

Ahamad: What a first impression Ahmad has made with all of the staff in Class 3. He has consistently shown since day one that he always listens, is always ready to learn and always tries his best. Our school value this week is responsibility and I cannot think of a better example of someone who takes responsibility for his learning. He always has everything that he needs, he is the first one to be ready and makes sure that he knows what he needs to do. Keep up the good work Ahmad.
