Class 2

30 January 2026

Lily M: is such a kind and caring member of the class, she is always thinking of others, smiling, being positive and playing nicely and showing what a good friend looks like.  Lily is not only a great member outside the classroom but also inside the classroom.  She tries really hard and is working on becoming more independent with her learning and trying to take some risks and have a go at things before asking.  She always contributes to class discussions, and when the adults ask for volunteers.  Lily is a pleasure to teach, and we look forward to her seeing her smile every day.

Imade: has been working really hard with reading over the last couple of weeks, making sure she’s reading at home, and coming in and telling the adults all about what she is reading, which such enthusiasm. Imade is becoming a much more fluent reader. She is reading high frequency words fluently and using her phonetic knowledge and decoding skills to read and blend tricky words.  We are happy to see that she is using these skills in lots of lessons, especially her maths, when it comes to reading the questions and answering them independently. Imade is always so happy to be in school and is always smiling and it's so lovely to see how happy she is and how her smile lights up a room.  She makes everyone smile with her brilliant sense of humour, and we love having her in the class. She is a joy to be around.

23 January 2026

George: is an absolute pleasure to teach.  He always demonstrates what a good learner looks like. He really puts a lot of effort and thought into the work he produces, especially when it involves creativity.  He is open to feedback and always looks to better himself.  He likes to work with adults to take advice on how he can adapt his writing and choose the best vocabulary possible.  He recently produced an amazing story opener using lots of things we have been learning in lessons – whilst writing, the adults could see him flicking back in his book to check things he had written and use ideas in his final piece.  We are very proud of you George.

Noah: always makes great choices in lessons and on the playground.  He is a kind member of the class and cares deeply about the people in it, not just the children, but the adults as well.  He is a really great friend to so many children and will consciously make an effort to talk to children if he sees them playing alone and wants to make sure they feel included.  Noah always demonstrates our school value of acceptance, and it is lovely to see the young man he is becoming.  Noah also takes pride in his work and has produced an excellent story opener, using lots of features and even made time to edit and improve, taking on adult's advice.

16 January 2026

James: He has come back after Christmas with such a positive attitude to learning, as he always has.   He has been so enthusiastic about our new topic as well as our English lessons.  James has been trying really hard to put his hand up and share his answers with the class.  He is demonstrating excellent knowledge by listening to the teaching, asking great questions and acknowledging answers with genuine interest in his responses.  James is someone who is very genuine with whatever he does, whether he is helping a friend, getting on with his work or answering questions in class.  He does this because he wants to help, learn and find things out, not because he has to, but because he has a genuine interest.  It is a pleasure to have James in the class, seeing his confidence grow and how hard he is working to be the best James he can be!

Seb: is an always member of the class.  What we mean by that is he always tries his hardest, always wants to do well and always listens.  It doesn’t matter which lesson, what we are doing, Seb is always giving it his all.  Lately, Seb has been focusing on his presentation, and we have to say, it is beautiful - we think it could be better than a lot of the adults!  It is a pleasure to have him in class and see how his confidence is growing with things such as reading and putting his hand up to share ideas.  It is great to see that even if he isn’t 100 percent sure about something, he is taking risks with his learning and giving things a go.  Keep setting an excellent example to your peers, Seb. Well done.

09 January 2026

Alex: has come back to school after Christmas with the same positive attitude towards learning.  He always tries his hardest, is a kind friend and a great member of the class. He has immersed himself into the lessons, offering answers, suggestions and support to his peers. He has been working really well with his new learning partner and is showing Class 2 what an amazing learner looks like, setting a really good example, we would say he’s an excellent role model.

Eva Ann: is a really enthusiastic learner to have in class. She shows her peers how you should tackle new topics and learning – with excitement - to find out new interesting things. She always has a smile on her face and is happy to learn, help and answer questions. Something we have been impressed with is how independent Eva Ann is becoming.  She has been trying to edit her work and check for mistakes before showing it to grown-ups. Keep up the great attitude to learning Eva Ann.

18 December 2025

Owen B: has been working so hard all week. He’s worked really hard with his sewing, completing his running stitch to make his hand puppet.  Owen has persevered to complete his task to a really high standard. Owen has been making a real effort in every lesson to put his hand up and share ideas and answers with the class.

12 December 2025

Hansel: has had really great resilience with his learning this week. We have been writing instructions on ‘How to steal Christmas.’ He had some excellent ideas and phonetically broke down words to help write his equipment list and his set of instructions. He remembered lots of key features and couldn’t wait to show the grown-ups what he had done. It was so lovely to see how much pride he had in his work.

5 December 2025

No star this week.

28 November 2025

Jack: This week Jack has been on fire.  He has worked his socks off day in, day out and cannot do enough to help. Not just the teachers but also the other children. He's also gone away and learnt his lines and speaks them with confidence, we are so proud of him. In his maths, especially right now, he loves the adding and subtracting and gets excited about achieving the challenges!

Florence: always tries her hardest, she sits quietly, listens well and works with others really well. She always gives her all even if the learning is tricky. She loves taking on new challenges and is keen to showcase what a good learner looks like to her peers. She is helpful around the classroom and will do anything to help grown-ups. She is a credit to the class.

21 November 2025

Lilly S: is giving her learning 'her all' and is making great progress, especially in maths. She works so well with her partner and she is keen to soak up all the new learning and is trying hard to remember previous learning. We are so proud of how kind, hard-working and polite Lilly S is.

Archie: is so enthusiastic about learning, he’s been working really hard to put his hand up and share all his amazing answers and ideas. He concentrates really well during lessons, especially in our writing sessions.  He’s started to plan an excellent diary entry for a day in the life of a person during ‘The Great Stink.’  We are very proud of how hard he has been working - he is trying to be the best learner he can be and it’s so lovely to see his enthusiasm and passion for all subjects.

14 November 2025

Alex G: has worked so hard this week. He has put his hand up for nearly every question asked, demonstrated amazing confidence in maths and continued to spread kindness in the classroom. His handwriting is also progressing and his understanding of the first-person pronoun this week was excellent, during his diary writing lessons.

7 November 2025

Oscar: This week we have seen Oscar try really hard to produce quality pieces of work. His presentation is coming on in leaps and bounds, he is working really hard and listening well in class, especially in our writing lessons and handwriting. Oscar has also been trying to put his hand up more to share his thoughts, ideas or answers he feels he knows.

Alfie: This week in Maths Alfie has worked really hard. Even though he found it tough at first he never gave up, he kept asking for help, he was determined to find the next 10! He is always well-mannered, hard-working and tries his best. His handwriting is also knocking everyone's socks off!

17 October 2025

Alex O: has made an incredible effort in his writing over the past few weeks and has produced an excellent biography based on all his knowledge of Florence Nightingale. We are so impressed with his handwriting as he is already trying to use pre cursive letters (even the one's he hasn't been taught). Alex is showcasing what a really great learner looks like, trying hard, being enthusiastic and challenging himself daily.

Rebecca: has been trying really hard with her phonics and reading, she has been working on, not only her phonics, but her presentation of her work and her handwriting is beautiful. She tries her hardest and listens really well to the grown ups and always shares with her peers when in lessons and at break times. She is becoming more and more confident each day.

10 October 2025

Charlotte: has been a superstar this week, especially in maths. Her focus in our fact families and related facts have blown the grown-ups away. She is also trying hard in every lesson even when the learning gets really tricky. She never gives up and wants to be the best version of herself every day. Charlotte is also showing that she is very proud of what she is doing and taking pride in her work.

Teddy: has been working so hard to be more independent with his learning. He’s been recognising numbers and how they are represented and in one day did 25 questions. WOW! Teddy has also been showing so much enthusiasm for learning, especially in our computing and topic sessions. His concentration and determination to find out how to do things in our computing sessions and trying to remember facts in our topic lessons has shown the grown-ups what a great learner Teddy has been.

03 October 2025

Eva-Ann: his person is always honest and tries her hardest. This week she has shared some great ideas in writing about Florence Nightingale and even remembered her parents just wanted her to be a wife, not a nurse. She then used great phonics knowledge to write facts about Florence Nightingale ready for her biography. She also did very well in her maths place value quiz this week, and we are proud of her always following the five golden rules.

Jack: is a very hard-working young man, he is helpful around the classroom and a kind friend. Jack communicates well in class with his peers and always tries to put his hand up to answer questions during the lessons. Jack has been so enthusiastic during our history topic and always wants to know more information, he is setting a really great example to his peers of what a good learner looks like.

26 September 2025

Kaydence: is always working quietly and trying her best. She always upholds the values that we teach at St Anne's. She is kind and accepting of others and always tries to play with everyone. In class, she always respects the staff and listens carefully when it's time to listen, and she always completes her work. Her maths this week has impressed the teachers, as she can confidently count in 10s and 1s and even solve some tricky challenges. Also, in writing she has started to create an excellent story about Queen Victoria's Bathing Machine, where she has tried hard to sound out all her ambitious words.

George: is one of our children that always makes good choices. He’s a great listener in class, he tries really hard and accepts any new challenges that learning throws his way. George also extends this outside the classroom too. At breaktimes and lunchtimes he is happy to have anyone join his game and will often make sure to try and include anyone in the games he plays, making sure everyone feels accepted.

19 September 2025

Felicity: is kind, hard working and this week she has even been forgiving. We have been so impressed by how settled she is in her learning and so pleased with her attitude. She tries hard in all the subjects but has especially impressed us this week in her maths. She has been confidently, partitioning numbers to 100.

Betsy: This person is kind, caring and has shown how to be a great friend. We have been really impressed with how Besty shares, takes turns in class with equipment and communicating as well as at breaktimes. She has been using her knowledge of forgiveness to understand when things are accidents and making sure others feel okay when an accident happens.

12 September 2025

Noah: In class 2 this week, Noah has knocked the socks off his teachers' feet! He has settled into Class two with a smile on his face. He has followed all the instructions, listened carefully and demonstrated how responsible he can be. What a little superstar, well done Noah.
