Everleigh: has been amazing all week in English. While retelling the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, she confidently led the way with a clear voice and enthusiastic actions. She always knows what is coming next and sets a wonderful example for others. Everleigh is also making excellent progress with her reading. She is a pleasure to read with and is developing her fluency beautifully as she recognises more and more tricky words. Well done Everleigh!
Thomas: has really stood out this week for his fantastic effort in phonics. He has been trying extremely hard to recognise the graphemes, say the correct sounds, and complete the actions confidently. Thomas is working on hearing words more clearly as he blends the sounds together, and he has done a super job with this all week. His determination and positive attitude have been wonderful to see. Well done, Thomas!

Toby: has shown amazing effort and confidence in maths this week. He has been able to clearly explain his thinking, using ideas such as noticing when a ten-frame is full, and recognising that if one square is empty, the total must be nine, because it is one less than ten. He has also been working hard on a new skill: finding the total by counting on from 10, instead of starting from 1 each time. Toby has embraced this challenge brilliantly and is becoming much more efficient in his counting strategies. Well done, Toby!
Laetitia: has been an outstanding role model in our class, not just this week but every single week. She consistently demonstrates the kind of behaviour and attitude that helps make our classroom a happy, calm, and productive place to learn. Whether she is working hard on her tasks, listening carefully, or sitting beautifully on the carpet, she always shows others what it means to be ready to learn. She always treats everyone with kindness and respect. Laetitia takes pride in keeping our classroom tidy and organised, often helping without being asked. She approaches every activity with a positive attitude and gives her best effort, no matter the challenge. Well done Laetitia!

Clara: Wow, what a wonderful writer Clara is becoming! She is now able to compose her own sentences and is showing fantastic progress in her writing. Clara’s letter formation is improving beautifully, and she is growing in confidence when recognising digraphs, spotting some independently, such as using a sound mat to help find others when needed. This week, Clara wrote a wonderful description of a pig as part of our work on The Three Little Pigs. She included lots of new vocabulary such as snout. Well done, Clara!
Hattie: has made everyone incredibly proud this week with her brilliant handwriting and fantastic focus during our handwriting lessons. She is super at completing the warm‑ups to get her hand muscles ready, and she has been taking great care to start and finish her ladder letters in the correct place. Hattie has been practising i, l, and t making sure she is sitting correctly before starting. Hattie proudly showed everyone in class her board. Well done, Hattie!

Jagger: has had an absolutely amazing week in Science! We have been learning all about materials, and he has shown brilliant curiosity and enthusiasm in every lesson. He asked thoughtful questions and shared great ideas with the class. He could confidently name a wide range of materials and explain what different objects are made from. He also noticed that many everyday items are made from more than one material, Jagger produced brilliant drawings of objects made of wood, metal and plastic and carefully labelled them. Well done, Jagger!
Harper: has absolutely blown us away this week with her fantastic scientific knowledge. During our biscuit investigation, she confidently recapped what makes a fair test and explained how we could ensure our own experiment was fair. She made thoughtful predictions about what might happen, and when observing the changes over time, she impressed us even further with her detailed scientific vocabulary, using words such as floating, sinking, getting bigger, crumbling, changing, and similar. Well done, Harper!

Mac: has been an absolute superstar in maths this week. He shows a real love for numbers and is always eager to share his brilliant facts about doubles, and even and odd numbers. He explains his thinking so clearly, often using phrases like “I notice…”, “I know…”, and “I can see…” to show his understanding. When using tens frames, he’ll confidently spot that there are 9 because “there’s one empty space,” and he explains numbers like 16 as “a 10 and a 6.” His enthusiasm and growing confidence shine every single day. Well done, Mac!
Amelie: has had a wonderful week. It has been lovely to see her enthusiasm for school really shine through. She loves bringing her independent work from provision to share with the adults and her friends, and she takes such pride in everything she does. This week, we have seen her show real care and consideration in her handwriting, use her imagination brilliantly to decide what her crayon wanted to be when it quit, and write lots of CVC words with growing confidence. She has also done some amazing reading and is working so hard on her blending. Well done, Amelie!

Matei: has had a wonderful week all round! He has shown great enthusiasm, excellent listening and a fantastic attitude to learning. Matei can always be relied upon to help keep our classroom tidy. He has also done some amazing maths this week, comparing length and confidently using vocabulary such as shortest, longest and the same. He showed a great understanding that when measuring it is important to place objects at the same starting point. Well done, Matei!
Delilah: is showing growing confidence in phonics, which is helping to improve both her reading and writing. She enthusiastically says the sounds and does the actions, and is always keen to learn a new sound. Delilah is working hard on her blending and is really enjoying her books. This week she did some lovely writing describing what she could see in the forest. It was also lovely to hear her say afterwards that she thought her learning was fun. Well done, Delilah

Cruz: This week, Cruz has really stood out in class for his wonderful work in phonics. He has been joining in with the actions and is trying hard to pronounce each sound correctly. It has been fantastic to see his confidence growing. During our quick writing activity, Cruz put in a great effort to form his letters carefully. We were especially impressed with his letter, which many of us have found tricky to master. Well done, Cruz.
Hattie: has a wonderful imagination, which we often see during her play in provision with her friends, especially in the home corner. This week, we have loved seeing her imagination shine in her learning too. She really enjoyed retelling The Gingerbread Man through Talk for Writing, using our story map and actions to help her remember the sequence. Hattie also showed great creativity by suggesting different animals we could change in the story to make our own new version. Well done, Hattie

Ollie: Amazing work this week in gymnastics. He showed fantastic perseverance and resilience, even when activities were challenging. His listening skills were wonderful, and he followed all of the instructions carefully throughout the session. He did a great job of balancing, jumping, and showing excellent control in his movements. When using the bean bag, he was able to confidently and carefully balance it on different parts of his body demonstrating great focus and body control! Well done, Ollie!
Teddy: has been a maths superstar all week! He has been consistently putting his hand up, having a go, and working hard during every activity. He has been recognising numbers to 8 and can confidently sort objects to match the correct numbers. Teddy has also been using his subitising skills to quickly recognise groups of objects, showing some fantastic mathematical thinking! He has been talking about how a 'ten' frame can help him – showing a great understanding of how to use maths resources to support his learning. Well done, Teddy!

Amelia S: It has been a pleasure to see Amelia’s enjoyment of Forest School grow. She has shown wonderful progress in her confidence, resilience, and teamwork skills. Amelia is becoming a little girl who is happy to join in, take part, and have fun with her friends. We have also seen her vocabulary develop, as she confidently uses both new and existing words to describe her experiences. A favourite moment was sharing in her excitement while cooking popcorn on the campfire. Her laughter was infectious as she described the popcorn as “popping, going up, and jumping in the pan.” Well done, Amelia!
Esther: is always ready to try her best, have a go, and confidently share her thoughts with the class. This week, while learning about the signs of winter, she impressed us by sharing her knowledge of the weather and the environment around us. Esther was able to talk about and draw items of clothing that would be suitable for winter weather. She did a fantastic job labelling her work, listening carefully to the sounds of words as she wrote. It's always lovely to see the pride and care she takes in her work. Well done, Esther!

Cassian: has had an amazing week in Maths, showing great focus and determination while working with numbers to 5. He has been confidently exploring number composition and has worked hard to understand the concepts of finding 1 more than, and 1 less than, a given number. Cassian approaches his learning with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, always having a go and trying his best. Cassian’s hard work and excellent attitude have really stood out this week to all the adults in class. Well done, Cassian!
Aubree: has had a fantastic week working on our story The Little Red Hen. She has shown great interest and enthusiasm, confidently naming different parts of a chicken, including the wattle, comb, and beak. Aubree has loved retelling the story and has done so with excitement and growing confidence. She also created her own beautiful Little Red Hen using powder paint, carefully thinking about and including all the features we have been learning about. Well done, Aubree!

Ella: What a wonderful start back! Ella has returned to school with a fantastic attitude and each day she has been ready to learn. She listens carefully during lessons and shows excellent sitting on the carpet. She has been very responsible with tidying up and always helps to keep our classroom clean and organised, setting a great example to others. She has done amazing work in phonics, confidently joining in with all of the sounds and actions and showing growing confidence in her learning. During busy time, she has been very creative and independent, choosing to make her own books. She carefully adds pictures and is beginning to use letters to give meaning to her work. Well done Ella!
Eleanor: What a lovely start back! Eleanor has returned to school with a fantastic attitude and has shown great enthusiasm for her learning. In maths, she has been working hard when thinking about numbers to 5, and has been confidently showing off her counting skills. She has also demonstrated excellent subitising skills, looking at a group of objects and then quickly knowing how many there are without needing to count. She is able to identify amounts and then write the right number. It has been lovely to see Eleanor taking her time and thinking carefully about her number formation, trying hard to write them correctly. Well done Eleanor!

Mac: is a keen and enthusiastic learner who is always eager to have a go at new challenges. He loves to share his knowledge and ideas with others and does so with great confidence. This week, Mac demonstrated excellent early writing skills when he helped Miss Robinson write her shopping list. He carefully listened to the sounds he could hear in each word and thoughtfully worked out how to record them. Mac took real care with how he held his pencil, showing control and focus, and he worked hard to form his letters. His concentration and determination were wonderful to see. Well done Mac
Luca: is another super writer who has been helping to write Miss Robinson's shopping list. He listened very carefully to the sounds in words and showed excellent phonics knowledge. Luca was super quick at spotting the correct sounds on the sound mat and then confidently had a go at writing them himself. Luca also truly stands out in class for his beautiful manners. He never forgets to say please and thank you, and this has been noticed and appreciated by all the adults across school. Well done, Luca — keep up the brilliant work!

Amelia: This week and for many weeks before, Amelia has been amazing us with her reading, writing and phonics knowledge. She has a good understanding of a what a word is and knows that to read and write we need to think about both the sounds and the graphemes. This week she has been listening carefully to the sounds and she drew a picture to match the word before 'having a go' at labelling it herself. Keep it up Amelia well done!
Amelie: has impressed us all in gymnastics week in and week out. She demonstrates wonderful listening skills and follows the instructions given by Emma (our gymnastics coach). She has a lovely poise and thinks carefully about her body shapes, including when landing. She has amazing confidence and quickly climbs to the top of the large climbing equipment and uses the springboard confidently. Well done Amelie!

Oscar: has had a fantastic week in class. Since day one, he has really impressed us with his reading, and it is always a pleasure to share a book with him. In phonics, he demonstrates fantastic listening skills and is always eager to put up his hand and share valuable contributions. He is good at hearing sounds within words and blends confidently and accurately. Oscar can quickly think of other words that start with a given sound and will happily share these with friends. Well done Oscar!
Everleigh: is a delightful member of the class who is always bubbling with enthusiasm. Over the last few weeks we have had lots of people in, to support our topic on people who help us. Everleigh has always been engaged, polite, and showing a real curiosity about roles. This week we had a visit from the RNLI, and she asked relevant questions and gave thoughtful answers thinking about how to stay safe around water. Well done!

Nirvana: has had an amazing week in phonics. She has shown fantastic concentration in every session and is becoming more confident each day. She recognises lots of sounds and uses the actions to help her remember them. This week, she has been eagerly having a go at carefully listening for the initial sounds in words and then suggesting new words that start with the given sounds. Nirvana has also been working very hard on forming her letters. She takes her time and always tries her best. Well done!
Jagger: has had a wonderful week and we are so proud of the progress he is making. We have seen him grow and grow in confidence. This week he has been volunteering answers and sharing his ideas much more often. What made us especially proud was watching how delighted he was with his own work. As he wrote down the sounds he could hear, he said, “I’ve done it!” and wanted to share his work. Keep it up Jagger. Well done!

Thomas: has been amazing all week, especially in our Topic lessons, where we have been learning all about People Who Help Us. He has been listening carefully and sitting beautifully on the carpet, showing great focus. Thomas has made some wonderful contributions, sharing lots of interesting information about who helps us and how they do it. During our visit from PCSO Wagstaff, he asked some brilliant and sensible questions, showing lots curiosity and understanding. Well done, Thomas!
Laetitia: demonstrates a mature and sensible attitude every single day in class. She is a wonderful role model to others always sitting smartly, listening carefully, and contributing enthusiastically. This week, she has really shone in phonics, confidently recognising the sounds, actions, and graphemes. Christian: has stood out all week with his wonderful contributions during carpet time. During our small group learning sessions, he impressed us with his thoughtful observations all about the signs of autumn. He was able to describe autumnal objects in detail, talking confidently about what he could see and feel. He shared that some of the objects been spiky, bumpy, smooth and hard and noticed there was an array of coloured leaves. Christian particularly impressed us when he explained that we shouldn’t eat berries because they might be poisonous. He has shown great enthusiasm and shared fantastic knowledge. Well done, Christian!
Theodora: has absolutely blown us away this week with her fantastic work in phonics! She always sits beautifully on the carpet, showing excellent listening skills and a positive attitude to learning. She makes sure to join in with all of our new phonic signs and actions, repeating them clearly and confidently. During our phonics sessions, Theodora is able to watch the short video clips and quickly spot the words that include our new sounds. She is making brilliant progress in blending sounds together to say and hear words, and we’ve been so impressed with how quickly she’s picked up this tricky skill. Her enthusiasm, focus, and determination have really shone through this week. Well done Theodora!

Harper: did an absolutely fantastic job during our learning about feelings this week. She showed a brilliant understanding of a wide range of emotions and was able to confidently identify and name them all. What really stood out was Harper’s use of expressive facial features to demonstrate how we might look when experiencing different emotions - from happy and excited to worried or sad. She was also amazing at sharing ideas about when we might feel certain emotions and showed a great understanding that it's perfectly okay to feel lots of different things. Well done, Harper
Erin: has truly shone this week and continues to be a wonderful role model in our class. She consistently demonstrates kindness, patience, and a willingness to help others, whether it's sharing resources, helping tidy up, or offering a friendly hand to a classmate in need. Erin is a busy little learner, always actively engaged in her play and learning. She makes sensible choices, shows great focus, and is always eager to take part in new activities. Her positive attitude and readiness to learn make her a joy to teach! Well done Erin!

Lyla: This week Lyla has shown fantastic listening skills. She’s been working especially hard in phonics, showing wonderful progress in learning our sounds. It's been lovely to see her so engaged and enjoying the actions that go along with each sound. She has been working on blending the sounds to read simple words and has been keen to put up her hand to have a go independently. Well done, Lyla keep up the brilliant work.
Alfie: This week, Alfie has shown fantastic enthusiasm during our learning about Harvest. He was able to name lots of different vegetables and used some brilliant descriptive words when looking closely at them. Alfie explored the vegetables using all his senses and showed great attention to detail. He’s been developing new vocabulary and using it confidently. Alfie also really enjoyed our Harvest stories and gave thoughtful answers to the questions we discussed. Well done, Alfie a super week of learning!

Clara – has been full of enthusiasm, especially during phonics sessions! She has been listening carefully to Miss Robinson and working hard to orally blend sounds. She is beginning to recognise letter sounds, learn the correct actions and pronunciation, and is even spotting words that begin with the chosen initial sounds. For fantastic focus and effort – well done!
Toby – has shown amazing listening skills in everything we’ve done this week! He particularly stood out during gymnastics, where all the adults noticed his excellent listening, ability to follow instructions, and impressive control. During our warm-up game, Toby listened carefully to every instruction and showed fantastic balance and control as he practised rolling and balancing. A brilliant week, Toby – well done!
