Oscar: has had a fantastic week in class. Since day one, he has really impressed us with his reading, and it is always a pleasure to share a book with him. In phonics, he demonstrates fantastic listening skills and is always eager to put up his hand and share valuable contributions. He is good at hearing sounds within words and blends confidently and accurately. Oscar can quickly think of other words that start with a given sound and will happily share these with friends. Well done Oscar!
Everleigh: is a delightful member of the class who is always bubbling with enthusiasm. Over the last few weeks we have had lots of people in, to support our topic on people who help us. Everleigh has always been engaged, polite, and showing a real curiosity about roles. This week we had a visit from the RNLI, and she asked relevant questions and gave thoughtful answers thinking about how to stay safe around water. Well done!

She recognises lots of sounds and uses the actions to help her remember them. This week, she has been eagerly having a go at carefully listening for the initial sounds in words and then suggesting new words that start with the given sounds. Nirvana has also been working very hard on forming her letters. She takes her time and always tries her best. Well done!
Jagger: has had a wonderful week and we are so proud of the progress he is making. We have seen him grow and grow in confidence. This week he has been volunteering answers and sharing his ideas much more often. What made us especially proud was watching how delighted he was with his own work. As he wrote down the sounds he could hear, he said, “I’ve done it!” and wanted to share his work. Keep it up Jagger. Well done!
