This week we are looking at ‘Classifying Vertebrates’.
You might remember some of this information from our earlier science work about the skeleton.
Work through the PowerPoint presentation on ‘Classifying Vertebrates’ and try any activities, if possible.
Use the recording sheets (Vertebrates and Key Questions) to record your work, or write/draw it in your book.
If you are able to, you might want to print out the Vertebrates Photo Sorting Cards and sort them into the correct groups, or you can just look through the pictures and decide which group you would put them in.
By the end of these activities you should be able to:
- generate questions about animals
- use questions to sort animals in a key
- see similarities and differences between vertebrates
- use these to identify vertebrate groups
Further activities to support your learning
