Class 4

Friday 2 October 2026

Iris: has impressed us with the thoughtful contributions she makes during lessons. She listens carefully to the ideas of others and is always willing to share her own thoughts, but her contribution during our RE lesson was particularly impressive.  As part of our learning, we explored the philosophical question, “Why does doing the right thing matter, even if no one is watching?” Her thoughtful, value-based responses helped to bring our discussion to life. S he was able to link her own ideas to how a Hindu might respond to the question, making insightful references to dharma and karma and explaining how sacred stories can help people understand the right way to live. She listened attentively to the views of others and built upon the discussion with her own ideas, demonstrating mature and reflective thinking throughout.  Well done on a fantastic contribution to our learning this week!

Olivia: has shown wonderful perseverance as she continues to settle into life at St Anne’s.  When she first joined us, she was understandably very quiet, but she is gradually growing in confidence and becoming an increasingly valued member of our school community.  We have been delighted to see her beginning to form strong friendships and gain confidence in the classroom as we get to know her better.  We were particularly proud of the courage she showed when volunteering to read a line during our Harvest Festival service in church. What a fantastic achievement and a wonderful step forward.  We have also discovered what an incredible young scientist she is! She has been fascinated by our learning about the digestive system and can confidently recall the key parts and explain their functions with impressive accuracy. Her growing confidence, willingness to have a go and determination to embrace new experiences are wonderful examples of perseverance.Well done on a fantastic week of learning and achievement!

Emma: has shown a fantastic attitude to learning across all areas of the curriculum.  She has particularly impressed us with her enthusiasm and engagement during our Literacy lessons. She has thoroughly enjoyed exploring our focus text, 'There’s a Rang-tan in My Bedroom', and has embraced every opportunity to develop her understanding of the story.  She has created pictures to show her understanding of the story, practised saying and writing sentences, found keywords in the text and enjoyed repeating parts of the story.  It has been wonderful to see her enjoyment grow, and we can't wait to see how she engages with our next focus book!

We have also been incredibly pleased with the progress she is making in swimming. Her confidence in the water has flourished, and she is developing her skills.  She should be very proud of all she has achieved this week. Well done!

Imogen: she has made outstanding progress in writing, demonstrating excellent perseverance while tackling challenging concepts such as direct speech, fronted adverbials and subject-specific vocabulary within her journalistic report writing.  She listens carefully to examples, applies feedback thoughtfully and independently incorporates new skills into her own work. Her writing is consistently presented to a high standard, and we have been especially impressed by the progress she has made in mastering the rules of direct speech.  Beyond English, she has also excelled in RE, where she has shown a mature and thoughtful understanding of the Hindu festivals of Holi and Diwali. She confidently explained the stories behind each celebration, explored the values they represent and made meaningful links between these stories and the ways the festivals are celebrated today. Her beautifully presented comparison of the two festivals demonstrated both excellent knowledge and thoughtful reflection.  This has been a truly fantastic week of learning and achievement. Well done, and keep up the fantastic work!

Willow: has made a fantastic start to life in Class Four and has quickly become a valued member of the class. She consistently listens carefully and remains focused on her learning, which enables her to make thoughtful and meaningful contributions during lessons.  We have been particularly impressed by her growing confidence in Maths, where she is increasingly able to explain her reasoning and justify her answers. She approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and determination, always striving to do her very best.  Her kindness, positive attitude and commitment to learning make her a wonderful role model for others. We are delighted to celebrate her achievements and look forward to seeing her continued success throughout the year.  Well done, and keep up the excellent work!

She has settled into life in Class Four with confidence and positivity, making a wonderful start to the year.  What has impressed us most is the kindness and care she has shown towards the new members of our class. She has gone out of her way to help them feel welcome, explaining classroom routines, offering support when needed and including them in games and activities.
