Girls football. An excellent result for the first round of the girls footballs league, winning both matches.

For Mental Health Awareness week, in P.E. on Friday afternoon, Class 6 made up/adapted a game using natural materials. The theme for Mental Health Awareness week this year was 'Nature' and everyone was encouraged to 'be active'. The children demonstrated leadership skills in their groups and the team work and cooperation really shone through, not to mention the fun and laughter we all had. The games included using the trees as bases, target games with pebbles and twigs and timing each other to complete assault courses made of natural materials. One group even incorporated making Mrs Kirkham's face with natural materials! What a wonderful afternoon we had. Well done Class 6

2nd April 2019: CONGRATULATIONS to our boys football team for winning the Middle Division Cup Final help at Sparken Hill this evening! It was a very close match and we must send our congratulations to our friends at Holy Family School. Our boys had a strong start going 1-0 up in the first few moments of the match. Holy Family responded well and soon found themselves in the lead by one goal. The match ended with a flurry of goals leaving the final score 3-2 to St Anne's School.

Congratulations to our girls football team who drew 2-2 against St Luke's on the 26th of March. We were particularly impressed with their determination and perseverance as the went from 2-0 down to 2-2 in the last five minutes of the match. What a shining example you all are to the rest of the school. Miss Broughton

On 21st March 8 children from Years 5 & 6 attended an Pop Lacrosse competition at Sparken Hill Academy. There were 8 teams in the competition and there were some tough games against experienced players. Our team were fabulous. They played fairly and enthusiastically although it was only the second time they had even held a stick!
