Summer Term Learning
Hello and welcome back after the Easter holidays. We hope you had a lovely relaxing break – we did!
We are very excited to be starting the summer term and we have got some great new topics to get our teeth into!
The summer term is split in half. The first half is a continuation of our topic "Bombs, Blitz and Bunting". We have yet to learn about wartime songs and dances. In textiles, we will lean about the wartime motto ‘make do and mend’ by up-cycling old items including bags and clothes.
In the second half we will be exploring "Planet Earth" where we will discover continents using maps, globes and google earth to help us. We will also learn about the dangers of plastics and fracking on our planet.
Homework is given out on a Wednesday and needs to be completed and brought back into school on the following Monday. The children will receive a weekly spelling task and we expect children to practice spellings and times tables daily.
In addition to this, your child will receive topic based tasks which must be completed in their pink Learning Logs. A minimum of 3 per half term is the expectation.
If you would like any additional support with home learning please let me know. Please support your child with their home learning as much as possible.
Class 5 thoroughly enjoyed their day at Southwell Minster for the Multi-Faith Roadshow. The children were involved in a variety of different experiences such as cultural food tasting, dressing up and crafts which were a perfect supplement to their already existing knowledge of different faiths.
This was a fabulous enrichment opportunity and the children, once again, were a credit to all at St Anne's.
What a fabulous time we had at Eden Camp.
The children were exemplary and even the sun was shining! Have a look at the photographs below.
