What a fantastic trip!
Class 6 visited the YMF on 28.2.17 to experience life on 'The Home Front' during WWII. The children went dressed as evacuees and were involved in a number of hands on tasks throughout the day. Mrs T took us into her farmhouse kitchen to make rag rugs, bake country crunch, do the washing and clean the tack. Mr F, the ARP warden, talked to us about air raid shelters and gas attacks. We had the opportunity to extinguish a fire bomb and use the Anderson shelter when the air raid siren went off.
