New Life at St Anne's

Week commencing 15th April 2013 - What an ‘eggciting’ and cracking time we have had in school recently!
After the Easter holidays we took delivery of 11 eggs  and we will be honest due to a power failure we were unsure as to whether the chicks would actually emerge! But on the Thursday morning we came into school to be greeted by Mr Lealan and the news that 8 of the chicks had hatched during
the night.
All the staff breathed a huge sigh of relief and later in the day eggs 9 and 10 entered into the world - a joy to see.
The fluffy chicks are doing really well and will soon be placed in a little run. Next week the
children will all have an opportunity to handle them.

The chicks have now left the lovely run - which was lovingly made for them by Mr Lealan; I think he had grown very fond of them!
After their joyous start in life they have been collected and have all gone to new loving homes. It is
sad not to hear their little cheeps as you walk down the corridor but it was lovely to see the
excitement and joy that they brought to the children whilst they were with us.
